Due Monday, October 20, 2008:
Complete a Reader's Companion for the first section of the novel or play that you and your group are reading.
Due Wednesday, October 22, 2008:
Listen to diction (word choice), syntax (order and placement of words in a sentence) and meter (rhythm) in everyday conversation. Be prepared to discuss what you hear.
Due Monday, October 27, 2008:
Write and submit a literary response and analysis essay in accordance with this assignment sheet.

Due Tuesday, October 28, 2008:
IF you turned in your essay in at least ONE of the THREE ways on Monday, you are rewarded with one extra day to turn in your essay in the OTHER TWO WAYS. (Good job Period 4 for turning in your essays in all three ways!)
If you did not, then you will have to wait until the next essay assignment to earn points toward the essay portion of your grade. Late essays will not be accepted. That would just train you to ignore deadlines.

Read and strive to understand "How to Read a Fictional Narrative," which was distributed in class and which is arguably the backbone of the year's curriculum.
Due Tuesday, November 4, 2008:
Review the practice exams and answer keys in preparation for Tuesday's comprehensive exam. Also review the Verb Overview and How to Read a Fictional Narrative.
Those of you who received F-Mergency Grade Resuscitation Kits, in addition to doing the aforementioend, please have your prescriptions signed and begin working on your three essays.
Due Friday, November 7, 2008:
Complete at least two Newsletter submissions and, for some of you, all three F-Mergency essays, as prescribed.
