| Due Tuesday, October 21, 2008: Read the 15 pages of your group novel that were assigned to you by your group leader. Due Wednesday, October 22, 2008: Read the 14 pages of your group novel that were assigned to you by your group leader. Due Thursday, October 23, 2008: Read the 9 pages of your group novel that were assigned to you by your group leader. Also, go to ROUND-UP. Due Monday, October 27, 2008: Read the 17 pages of your group novel that were assigned to you by your group leader. Due Tuesday, October 28, 2008: Have all required supplies. You were supposed to have them during the first week of instruction. If you DO have all listed supplies, especially the binder and six sheet protectors, you will earn two days' worth of homework points. If you don't have them, you will earn two days' worth of zeroes. That means that if your current homework score is 60%, it could either increase to 83% OR decrease to 17%. Due Wednesday, October 29, 2008: Test your myaccess.com login so that it works in time for your essay to be due. No excuse will be entertained for a missed deadline, and no essay will be accepted late. Here is the essay assignment sheet, if you need an extra copy. Due Thursday, October 30, 2008: Required supply check. Have everything! Due Monday, November 3, 2008: Write a Literary Response and Analysis essay according to the essay assignment sheet handed out in class. Use this Menu of Literary Elements and Devices as a tool. MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON THE CORRECT ASSIGNMENTS: In turnitin.com, choose Literary Analysis I, and in myaccess.com, choose Response to Lit - Theme - Generic A. Also, remember to bring your typed hard-copy - in MLA format - to class on Monday. Essay samples can be found in last year's student newsletters. |
Due Tuesday, November 4, 2008: Study the last exam and answer key; "How to Read a Fictional Narrative;" and "Verb Overview" in preparation for Tuesday's comprehensive exam. Those of you who received F-Mergency Grade Resuscitation Kits, in addition to doing the aforementioend, please have your prescriptions signed and begin working on your essays. Due Friday, November 7, 2008: Complete and submit (either by e-mail or in class) at least two newsletter entries... Also, some of you, complete your three F-Mergency essays exactly as prescribed. If you have been absent since receiving your F-Mergency kit, you will NOT get extra time. You were forewarned, and the quarter ends Friday.
