Why was this written? What is the form? Why do you think the author chose this form? How does the form serve the theme, or message? What is the meter and/or rhyme scheme, and how to do they function? What other patterns are present? What is the tone? How do the literary elements function, i.e., what effect to they have on the text and on you? How do the literary devices function, i.e., what effect to they have on the text and on you? Is there paradox or irony at play? Is there ambiguity? Are there allusions to other texts or to historical events or to anything else? How does this poem relate or connect to other texts you have read? Due Tuesday, April 13, 2010: Read A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and be prepared to write about it. Also, re-read Death of a Salesman. Sunday, April 18, 2010 from 10 AM to 2 PM: Take a practice AP exam in B211. Be on time and expect to stay the entire time. You will take a complete practice exam.
