Goals of the EETT
Grant
Teachers in the target group will increase their proficiency in the use of technology as a tool for teaching and learning. In so doing, they will:
- Manage and align technological resources with lesson content.
- Be aware of student level of technological prowess and academic achievement.
- Be aware of current research and best practices with regard to the use of technology.
- Use technology to maintain student records.
- Use technology to communicate with students, parents and colleagues.
- Select and evaluate appropriate technological resources.
- Know state, district and school laws and guidelines with regard to the use of technology in the classroom. This includes state laws, district acceptable use policies and local network security features.
- Create an effective learning environment that is rich in technology.
- Evaluate, monitor and adjust the use of technology as a teaching and learning tool.
- Use data that is collected through technology to drive instruction.
Teachers will encourage students in the target group to:
- Use technology to communicate with parents, teachers and peers.
- Use technology to achieve academic goals.
- Use technology for tasks not currently existing and perhaps not yet imagined.
- Use technology to develop problem-solving skills.

Quantitative Goals:
GUSD’s Goal: 60% of the seventh graders will improve on their baseline score by one point by the end of the year.
