Gr. 11, read any two articles from those you have collected in class and write the following for each:
1 thesis (the theme or main idea in one sentence)
2 purposes (two reasons the author wrote the article)
3 assumptions the author made about what you already know or don't know
4 questions for further research - what are you still curious about?
5 vocabulary words to look up
6 personal thoughts or epiphanies you had while reading
7-sentence summary of the article. The whole article retold in seven sentences (in your, not the author's, words).
