Due Thursday, February 3, 2011

swagger, plunder and any other word from your personal Odyssey dictionary.

Continue to read
The Odyssey Books 5 and 9.

Due Friday, February 4, 2011

Work on your
metaphoric mind map. Complete reading through Book 9.

(We're reading Books 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 19, 21, 22 and 24.)

Due Monday, February 7, 2011

Complete your
metaphoric mind map for homework points, project points and so that we have beautiful proof in the room of your unique point of view.

Due Friday, February 11, 2011

Complete reading and annotating
The Odyssey Books 10 and 12. Your annotations, either on Post-its (if you are reading a school copy) or in the margins (if you are reading a print-out of the Web version or your own copy) should include summaries, epiphanies, and commentary on literary devices. Also, continue to compile your own personal Odyssey dictionary.

To help further prepare you for the test, which includes
this cloze portion, answer the study questions for Books 10 and 12.

Due Wednesday, February 12, 2011

Bring all
required supplies, including your Odyssey book, if one was checked out to you.

Due Monday, February 28, 2011

Complete the crafting of your
Odyssey puppet show.

Bring to class
puppets, stage and a script. The presentation component will be later - perhaps much later - and will be for separate points.

If you are video-taping your show and uploading it onto
youtube, you don't need to bring the stage - just the puppets and the script. But you must upload it and e-mail me the link before class begins on Monday.
Your script must be typed and printed. Do not e-mail me your script or bring in a flash drive.

The title and cast pages do not count in the ten pages.

Ten pages of dialogue is easy and can be fun.

Ten pages of script is about the same as two pages of essay.

Yes you can!

Due Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Study for the Odyssey final and complete at least forty entries in your personal Odyssey dictionary (not including the words I put there).

Due Friday, March 11, 2011

If you did not complete and turn in your personal dictionary, complete at least 60 entries and turn it in on Friday. All entries must be COMPLETE and most of them original. You may not copy from a friend.

Due Monday, March 14, 2011

Revise, type and format according to
MLA guildelines your Odyssey essay -- for double homework credit. Bring it to class printed already. Do not e-mail me your essay.

Due Tuesday, March 15, 2011

And make sure to have your grammar book and at least one sharpened pencil.

Due Monday, April 11, 2011

For those of you who did not do one of the following: the puppet show or the Odyssey essay, complete this "keeling" task.

Ahoy!
