Roosevelt Tech Grant Objectives, Fall 2006

 

To be measurably in process by October 26, 2006:

 

1. Create a tech grant web page with all relevant data including:

  • Language of the grant
  • Summary of mission and purpose of the grant
  • Outline of the mission, objectives and action steps
  • Key links – reinforce sites taught last year
    • CTAP Online
    • EdTech Profile
    • Atomic Learning
    • LACOE Media Services
    • EETT.gusd.net
    • Other teacher resources
  • (Interactive) schedule for laptop carts and computer labs
  • Schedule of essays – Pre/Post (Space Shuttle/Spending Money), district benchmarks and STAR

 

2. Meet with Katie, Principal and English Department Chair to Discuss Grant – Week of August 28th

  • Maria will have either received the equip or will have determined a delivery date by then
  • Show Maria and Javier the web page
  • Discuss schedule of essays again
  • Plan trainings

 

3. Meet with teachers to give them an overview – show them the web page and the schedule of essays; give teachers their personal laptops; and discuss My Access

4. Train teachers

5. Schedule time with laptops for the teachers to train their students

6. 6th and 7th grade students take Ed Tech Profile in computer lab by October 25

7. 7th grade students do writing baseline (persuasive essay on the subject of lockers) by October 31.

 

DATES:

 

Friday, September 8 @ 1:30, teachers get overview and get laptops from Katie

 

Wednesday, September 20, from 8 to 3, Katie delivers My Access training for English teachers in the Roosevelt computer lab, room 4204.

 

Laptop carts will be rotated among English teachers beginning Thursday, September 21.

 

Student Ed Tech profiles (via Computer Labs) due October 25.

 

Lab unavailable to teachers October 2nd.
